Well Good for her!
I hope I'm still driving when I'm 90.

I thought she never drove! It must be one of those royal myths, like the one that say's she never carries cash, which I know she does, as I've seen a video of her shopping at the village near Balmoral. & she definitely got the money from a purse that looked well used

She drives alright! Started by learning mechanics and driving ambulances towards end of WW2. She uses a Land Rover LWB (90 or 110?) to get around Great Windsor Park and for "horse work". I know she had a S3 XJ12, then an X type which could be the one pictured...

I'm with Elinor. Hope I get to 90 and still drive. But, I am much closer to that age than Elinor.

Good for Elizabeth....

I realised the other day that I'm only 7 years away from requiring an annual medical check up & skills appraisal to keep my licence. I can see the reasoning behind it, & I do agree with it. But gee it's going to pee me off.

Yeah, me as well. No more renew my license by mail, together with a check, of course!!l

last time up, I took the written and did 100% correct on the questions.

But, I have never done well on Optometric machines and the simple charts. But, in daily life, my visual acuity, in my POV, is very sharp.

A year or so ago, my son and I played with a pellet gun with a scope and a moving target. I could nail it just as well as he.

Can I read street signs. Easily, with or without glasses.

Do I drive safely. Definitely, I stay in tune with my surroundings.

In daily life, I spot minute movements of birds. I watch TV sans glasses just fine. I read print. Mostly sans glasses, but some is fuzzy. I think other factors at play, other than my eyes. So, I just adjust. Glasses or ignore.

I am smart enough to recognize any inability to see and drive safely. If it happens, I will concede,

What will I do, if I flunk the formal eye test and get no renewal? Wow ???
