Default Radiator caps - where to find correct replacement?

One of my first projects is replacing the rusty and crusty fill and expansion tank caps on my 76 XJ6C. Ordered what the Jaguar classic parts list suggested from XKS Unlimited, CC6707, and the parts look great but they do not fit either opening - fill or expansion. The 'ears' on the cap seem too wide to fit the collars on either fill.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the problem or a link to what would fit?

CCC6707 is for a later car than yours (Series 3). Yours will be JLM9652 (15lbs) or C23860 (13lbs) depending on VIN. Feel free to call us and we can help!

Thanks SNG.

here's a sample of the junk sold by XKs Unltd.:

Fuel pump mount replacement isolators for classic Jaguar MK-2 and S type which fall apart during installation. They glue bolts into a rubber isolator and when you tighten it the bolt revolves and comes out of the rubber. The original isolator studs were vulcanized into the rubber, not GLUED !

I ended up reusing the old original isolators.

Radiator caps are somewhat universal.

Take the bad stuff down to the old tech parts place. Around here, NAPA or CARQUEST. an experienced counter person can probably offer a working cap.

Jose. Apply some heat. Charles Goodyear discovered "Vulcanizing" by a pure accident...

The secret is an experienced counter person. I use Stant caps. SNG is good.
