Rear Seatbelts S2 XJ12
HI Guys,
A a noob, this is my first technical post, and what seems to me to be a dumb one, however.
Our lovely new S2 XJ12L is home, and to my childrens horror, there are only seat belts for 4 (2+2), we are a family of 5.....Looking in the manuals etc, they show how to remove and check the inertia reels etc but are mute on a center seat belt. Can I fit a center rear sash-type seat belt? Would these have been fitted at the factory? The car was originally a chauffeur driven vehicle in th UK - maybe it was removed.
Any info / pics / suppliers would be greatly appreciated. Getting the kids to draw straws before a Sunday drive is not my idea of fun. TIA. Mick.

i had the same issue. a generic sash belt went in fine. just use the same bolt holes as the catches are attached to for the side belts. seat base is simple to remove. just make sure you get a generic one with a fairly long bit on the catch. if that all makes sense
Hello, Mick, I see you found your way over here.
My Series II has 3 belts in the back seat, but the center belt is stuffed under the cushion as it will never be used.
You can remove the cushion by removing the 2 screws on the lower front (if present), pulling the front up and sliding the cushion forward.
You might find the missing belt there -- or if it's absent, you can add one as Richard suggests above.
