Default Running a wire from the engine bay into the car...

Where is the best place to do it ?

Ideally I want to do it on the passenger side (Right hand side) of the car. I had a look last night and there was a grommet behind the battery going through the firewall. I tried putting a coathanger in there carefully but it comes up against something pretty hard very quickly. I took the underside of the dash apart and there are metal panels in the way.

If there is an easy way to get it through on the drivers side I would also be open to that.....

Any advice appreciated.

(PS : If the thing I'm trying to feed the wire to works I'll post a thread on what it is once its done)

Heh heh....the firewall on a Ser III is pretty well sealed up, isn't it ?

The only good I ever found....and it isn't all that good, really....is where the hood release cables come thru.

You're not really gonna make us wait to hear what you're up to, are ya? C'mon, just spill the beans!

Cheers

Well, I do have some experience to share. I learned that crisscrossing from one side to the other in the scuttles is tough at best!!

1. There is a big fat grommet with a big bundle of wires going through it. Well I managed to get t6he gropmmett6 loose and revealed a great opening into the scuttle.
got my wires in and then a devil of a time getting the grommet back. I confess to some suck tape assistance in closing the hole!!

2. Yup, on the drivers side where the cables enter the cab is a great place. I found the metal very thin and easily drilled as I needed more than I could squeeze by the cable.
Extra shrink tubing to protect the insulation and a hefty dab of liquid tape to close it to air or vapors.

You gotta reveal the use of that extra wire!!!

I get impatient with threads with no end.

It was for an audio upgrade :-)

Doug, thanks for the tip. I got the power wire through the hood release cable hole, but it was a real fiddle
