Default Sea Foam in an '84 XJ6

It's time to give the engine th old one-two punch, and finally take care of the gunk from two years of being parked. So, I'm thinking I'll run some Sea Foam into it and make it happy.

Question is, which vacuum line do I use? Anyone able to let me know, possibly with a photo to make sure I get the right one?

TIA!

I have no idea but, I'm sure some one can help.

I do think you should post up a video so we can see how much smoke you produce.

Seafoam is the definitive example of 'smoke and mirrors'. Look in your mirror and you'll see lots of smoke.

If indeed there is a mechanical problem with your engine, no 'miracle in a bottle' is likely to fix it.

Ben, when it comes to adding in the seafoam, you want it to be as far up the intake as possible, but still subject to the full vacuum of the engine. So, for your car, you are going to want to find a vacuum line coming off of the carb. Preferably the bigger the line, the better, up to about 1/4" line. This will be good for getting any garbage that will have collected on the valves, but much more than that, you are not going to see much. I would also recommend adding a bottle of oil detergent about 50 miles before your oil change. This will help get rid of any oil sludge that may have formed. I wouldn't do both of these at the same time. The main reason for it is it will give the illusion that both products did something when it is possible only 1 will do something and the other won't. So, add the bottle of oil detergent now (especially if your valves are noisy) and then take the car out for a good drive. From there, you can change the oil and start getting the car really road ready. I use a product called "CD2" It is good for being in the engine for 3,000 miles, but I find that after about 20 miles, if it is going to do anything, it has already done it.

I don't think there is a mechanical problem. The guy I bought it from had it parked for two years while he was working in Alaska, so it is just a little gummy. I'm hoping to give it a good flush out and see if the hesitancy when it's cold reduces.

I've been running Lucas injector cleaner through for a few tanks, but I thought I'd give it a solid clean out at the source. (It's injected, not carbourated).

I also intend to flush the coolant, as soon as I can find the drain plug... Lol

Seafoam inducted through a vacuum source will not help with your quoted issue.
