Each seat base has a different and differently munted 'retainer' which stops the seat base from flying free. Neither of mine do this job, what does a 'normal' or functioning one of these clamps/clips look like and how might i fashion a replacement.?

in my 1984 the bracket looks and fits like this:


vertical side of bracket fits behind front of seat,
angled side of bracket catches metal edge of seat frame in front of diaphragm.

Screw with metal washer and plastic grommet slides thru vinyl cover into vertical bracket side, black plastic cap snaps over plastic grommet. No need for a fender washer.
