Seies 3 footwell lights will not go off
Start by looking/testing for a chafed or shorted ground wire between the lights and the door switch (small plunger) at the front of the door frame. The door switch is designed to ground the interior lights when the door is opened, and disconnect the ground when the door is closed. If the light never goes off, there is a steady ground on the interior side of the door switch. If the other interior lights function correctly, then the problem is in the ground wire to the foot-well lights only.

Don't laugh, but.....
Also check your power antenna fuse. I know that must sound odd but a blown antenna fuse [somehow] causes a back feed that, in turn, causes the door lights to stay on. This is documented by a Jaguar TSB. The fix at the time was to add a diode into the circuit but, of course, replacing the fuse will do the trick as well....providing it doen't keep blowing.

Hi, I'll second what Doug mentioned about checking the radio / power antenna fuse. The time delay relay in the trunk can cause a feedback loop causing the lights to stay on. I can't remember if it makes a new ground path or returns voltage backwards to the lights but the result is rather puzzling as you may have noticed !

Guys
All fixed thank you.
Turned out to be the earth....I think.
I removed the glass on the passenger front door light to find the screw holding the light in place was very loose. Once tightened all fixed.
Thanks for suggestions.
