When we went to town for our regular Hit Run last week, we were just pulling out of the parking space when a woman alighted from some soulless SUV of some equally soulless drab color, took one look at Nix, grinned and shook her head!
It wasn't a "Very Cool" head shake either. It was a "Your Kidding!" head shake, as in, "What utter Fool would drive around in THAT!?"
I told Nix to ignore her. All her taste was in her mouth and she was probably secretly Jealous!
At the opposite end of the spectrum was another woman, somewhat younger, driving her soulless mini-van, who was leaving the gas pump about the same time as we were.
Big happy grin on her face, arm stuck out the window with a Thumbs Up all the way past until we were out of sight of each other.

Well, some people just don't get it.
Over 20-some years of driving Jags I've gotten lots of remarks. Mostly good, but quite a few snide or mocking in nature as well. To those I've learned to simply smile and say "Well, they're not for everybody".
This, of course, it 100% true....and can be interpreted a couple different ways. But leaves them speechless :-)
Thank you everybody for looking in.
This spring Nix is the Only example of Classic Jag I'm seeing on the roads, Anywhere. I suppose this is to be expected as they are 'getting on in years', as my dad would say, and fewer people are willing or able to maintain them. That makes me a bit sad.
On the other hand, it does make her a bit 'Unique.'

Summer is on it's way so that means my '79 will be my daily driver. Salt on the roads is for my wife's Lexus. In Ohio you can get historical tags for a one time fee of $10 (no annual registration fees) but you can only drive to parades, car shows etc. Not for me, I pay the normal plate fees and I can drive where ever, when ever.
