Question side window waist seal replacement

Has anyone replaced the seal that rubs against the outside of the door windows It is under the chrome strip, can it be pushed into or under the strip or will the door trim need to be removed to get the chrome trim off? Sorry I am talking about a series 3 Sovereign

Adrian, you will need to unscrew the chome trim. You will need to wind the window fully down and remove the black metal triangle panel by the door mirror. Behind the triangle panel is one large screw. The remaining ones are accessed from inside underneath the rubber. On UK cars these are more rust than metal so it's worth spraying some WD40 on and letting them soak before unscrewing them. I ended up having to take the inner door card off and use thin long nose pliers to remove the screws.
Once the chrome strip is off the rubber part is removed by sliding. When you put the new one on use some washing up liquid or other lubricatant as they can be difficult to slide back on.

Steve, I'm replacing the front and rear window seals. I can get to the front window seals and chrome strip by winding down the window but the rear windows don't go all the way down, of course. Have you any hints as to how to replace them?

Cheers

Mark
