Hello all, Happy Christmas,
So, my xj6 has been sat in the garage on a trickle charger, I usually remember to start her up every couple of weeks if she's not been use, and he was running a couple of weeks ago, so I went to start her today, the starter turned the engine 2-3 times then everything went dead - no lights on the dashboard, nothing, when I turn the ignition key everything is completely dudd,
any advice on where to start? I guess there's no fuse for the starter, presumably one of the relay switches on the bulkhead? or could it be that something's just gone kaputt in the key column switch and no current is flowing when I turn the key?
thanks in advance for any thoughts, best wishes, Al

I would be inclined to check earths first. Usually a good place to start especially if there is absolutely nothing happening when you turn the key. I have been in similar situations where you can crank initially and then nothing.

Clean the cables and posts at the battery.
