Sway bar link question/transmission question
First question is can bushings be bought at a auto parts store to replace the ones on a sway bar link. Does anyone know the thread size of the nuts that connect the sway bar link?
The transmission question is I have adjusted the bands but I can't accelerate fast from 1st to 2nd without the tranny slipping for a second then finally catching. Any ideas? Xj6 series 3

The nuts on the hex links are 14mm or 9/16A/F, from memory, or is it the hex is 14mm etc and the nuts are 13mm (1/2"), bugga, I forget, its been a long, long time.
The bushings are generic down here, nothing special, such as GM, Ford, whatever I find on the day in the parts boxes. I never use Poly here, as the hex studs have a bad habit of snapping with that compound in there.
The trans, try an extra litre of fluid, maybe the gasket on the filter spacer block is split/missing, and the pump is sucking air coz its easier. No harm will come of the trans with this slight "overfill". When you get to about 4litres over, then panic a little.
Failing that making ANY difference, the trans is worn out, it does happen.
