Default Trip Computer Series 3 XJ - for new owners

if you want to know how the Trip Computer works in your Series 3 XJ (1980-1987), check this page for all the details.

Jaguar XJ6 SIII trip computer details

For those of you who just don't like the Digital Trip Computer and/or don't even want to look at it

1) you can cover it with Black Duct Tape

2) you can ask your wife or girlfriend to find you a Series 2 XJ panel for Christmas with the analog clock instead, a lot nicer and more "Jaguar".

I would love to find one of those series II panels and relocate the trip computer to the glove box or some other unseen area. Thanks for sharing, good info.

you welcome. I'm looking for one too! I don't use the trip computer, never even look at it other than to check the time or adjust the clock. Yes some XJ owners like them. With the advent of alcohol in gasoline, and gasolines evaporating faster than they ever did, the information from the trip computer is useless IMHO. The only info. worth looking at is the fuel tank gauge.
