Anyone know where I could find a series II trunk light assembly?
I need the socket the bulb goes in.

He, he. What do they really do? I was messing with my dash light "dim and dimmer" rheostat. Hard to see any results in day light.

So, the other night, I went out to the garage to try the dash lights. Yeah, they work!!! Why, and how I fixed them is ???? But, checked, full CW is dim. Turn CCW for dimmer to dark.

Two other thongs to look at:

1. Are my new fresh Halogen inboard lamps really brighter? Subjectively, yes...

2. Boot lamp. yeah, it is on, indeed. Any assistance in loading or unloading in the dark? Not much, if any. Good thing, it seems to go out on closing the boot lid, I think? No unexplained parasitic drain and battery stays up. "knock on wood". I stow a flash light (torch)there. Much brighter. And merely a two "C" cell unit.

3. At my age, I gotta get up at night a time or two. I have a bed side flashlight (torch). AA cell and LED. Very nice.

4. I succumbed to impulse at the hardware store. A "miner's" lamp.
Three AAA batteries. and a LED cluster. Slick. Button on/off and bright and brighter. Rob it and adapt to the Jaguar??? In series, the three AAA's make 4.5 volts. Reduce 12v to 6? Tolerate?
Or even, just shoot 12v to the LEDS, tolerate????

Old expression, 'let there be light". About ten years ago, we had a "heat
wave". Amongst it's consequences were numerous power outtages related to over taxed transformers. The local utility forces were not enough. but, to their credit, independent contractors were hired to help.
On about the third night, just after dark, several neighbors gathered on my porch. I had seen a 'task force" not far away. Sure enough, it came to our "pole". An interesting vehicle hoisted the worker, dealt with lowering the bad "pot" and hoisting the new. Amazingly efficient and fast. The leader came over and said, "you are on". I proclaimed,
"let there be light" and reached in the front door ands flipped the porch light switch. Yahoo, there was!!!!

All went home to fire up the AC's and get some blissful cooool sleep.
