Twenty years ago, the 87 SIII had a shifting issue between 1st and 2nd. The head tech at the Jag dealer noted the problem was discussed in TSB 3-034.

I've got that shifting problem once again, kind of clunks between 1st and 2nd. Wondering if anyone has a link to this TSB numer or knows where to find it?

 

Which shift direction ? 2nd > 1st on coming to a stand is called "roll-out" change and can get clunky, but can be adjusted out, however I don't know the exact method.

 

The throubleshooting sayes that you have to "strip the valve bodies and clean"
