Default Unidentified objects.

Does anyone know what these are? (indicated in blue). It's in the trunk of an '83 XJ6.

Black thingy: Trip computer interface, translates injector pulse to provide fuel used data for trip computer

Larger silver doohicky: bulb fail unit for brake lamps

Smaller silver whoozits: bulb fail units for rear parking, sidemarker, and lisence lamps.

But I still wouldn't recommend cutting the red wire...

the one above the blue arrow is the counter for the Oxygen Sensor light,
which comes on every 45K miles. there is a push-button on the side of this
black box. Push it to reset to zero. There should be a label on it that says
"XKE 4.2". This black box should be mounted to the left vertical beam, on the
left of the sunroof motor.

Okay you two, stop fighting. :P Thanks. The oxygen sensing gizmo above the blue arrow had the green wire disconnected and a new wire was routed down to the fuel pump. Fuel pump works now, due to a faulty relay. (I just banged it against the fender a few times).

Does banging your "gizmo" on the fender trump knowing what a "thingy" "doohickey" and "whoozits" are?

My mom told me that banging my gizmo would make me blind. Maybe that's why he goes through so much Visene.

LOL! Oh geez, what did I step into? I've actually realized with my Jag that if I bang the electronic dowhat's on things, they have a tendency to operate. My trip computer is actually functioning...sorta...because of that.

So, bang your gizmo hard and repeatedly on things, you never know if it will do any good or not until you try.

Sound advice, I have one wonderful daughter as a consequence of such behavior.

Should be part of your signature, perhaps?

Mohrd,

The hell with the signature line, I'm just going to use it for all of my posts from now on.

Rustybux,

Thanks for the joke, it was hiarious...but I'm beginning to think that picture is really you.
