Update on Harley Davidson 7" headlight mount
Ref my original post dated 02-20-2018.
The back plate ring that would mount forward of the bucket is 3/8" too large in diameter to fit inside the fender nacelle. I will trim/grind the ring but it will be a right PITA!.
Once I do that, it should fit. The units appear to be well made and they have 3 adjusters. The headlamp retaining ring fits nicely over the headlamp and holds it securely in place. It even has a 7" diameter o-ring to cushion the lamp inside the ring. Will keep all posted.

Well I took the grinder to the ring. Got it to fit inside the nacelle. Had to make 3 cuts into the flange where the bucket seats. Not a problem with a pair of metal snips. The unit sits perfectly. Just need to drill 3 holes to secure it to the original flange. Then picked up some 7" headlamp buckets from Robert Laughton (a fellow forum member) here in Niagara. They are originally from a Mini - or so the label says - they were new!
Also got a set of used 7" trims from him. On a trial fit, they all go together perfectly. I will have to make three aligning cuts in the flanges of the buckets so everything goes together correctly. The only issue I have now is to fabricate some kind of clip to tie into the lower clips of the rings - should not be a problem.
As far as I can tell so far - and I can be quite discerning - they look 100% original.
Will post pictures of the entire process when I do the other side in a few days.
Once you can source buckets this is a simple process to get back the "Originally designed" Jaguar look.
