My intake manifolds are painted (no idea what kind of paint) black. According to all pictures I have seen on other cars they should be bare Aluminium… Could the black paint be original? I think it would look nicer to blast them and polish.

They seem quite intricate to polish and even more to keep polished but would look very nice. There seems to be some etching clear lacquer which I am going to look at at a later date. I'm planning to polish my xjc 4.2 cam covers so I will keep my eyes open for opinions.
