Default Vapor sys - can I just remove??

Apologies to the greens, but can I remove this entire vapor capture cluster and just cap the connection point on the crankcase ventilation pipe?

I can't believe this affects anything and just realized the vac hose was dangling..a nice vac leak causing my wonky idle perhaps 😡

My 1985 Sovereign ( Germany Emission B ) didn't come with the EVAP system from the factory so it was modified with Mercedes parts when imported in 1985. The vacuum operated control valve was already MIA when I got the car so I removed all the add ons ( the hard line back to front was never installed so they had hose zip tied along the bottom of the car ). You might want to leave the canister inside the right wheel well and just put a fine screen ( bug guard ) over the hose currently going to the valve in your picture. That way the system can still release vapor pressure from the fuel tanks as needed.

Cheers,
Brian
