Hi,
I have a water leak in the footwell when it rains, on the passenger side (RHD vehicle).
I removed the carpet and side trim below the glovebox.
I poured some water in the corner shown in the channels ( top and side -I meant to take a picture of the other side that is leaking), and I could see water coming in from the side/ pillar in the footwell.
I am wondering is there a water drainage channel behind the fender that may get blocked?
For now I believe it is not the window seal as I poured water below it, just in the channels mentioned. I have not taken the fender off before so I am unsure of what it looks like behind.
cheers Clayton
Waxa, here's a picture of the area behind the wheel well and fender where the water drains and then runs out through a narrow gap at the bottom. Mine had quite a bit of mud and leaves plugging that gap. I extended the drain tube from the windshield plenum to exit through the bottom gap, seemed like a better arrangement.
Yes, remove the wheel and at the rear of the wheel well you will see a panel held with 4 or 5 small bolts. That is the access to the area in my picture.
