Default wheel width question

Hello
I would like a little advice as to what wheel width will fit on a xjc, currently I have the 15" xjs lattice wheels which seem to fill the guards completely but I'm not a big fan of them. What is the maximum width I can go without modifying the guards? Thanks for your time

For a couple years I ran 235/60x15 on my Ser III, using 15x7 wheels. No problem.

The Ser III in my garage right know has 255/45x17 tire on 17x8 XJR wheels. They *seem* to fit OK but, truth is, I have done more to manuever the in and out of the garage a few times so I really can't say.

Much would depend on how much your springs have settled. It varies quite a bit from car to car. Spring sag is fairly common.

Cheers
DD
