Where is coolant temp sensor?

As I recall, there is a coolant temperature sensor for the ECU, and also one to drive the coolant temperature gauge on the dash panel. Then there is the thermotime switch that switches the cold-start injector.
The temperature gauge transmitter is small and has a single spade connector on it with a single wire running off. The other two temperature sensing devices have robust plugs and sockets a bit like those found on the fuel injectors. All of these are found on the top of the water rail.

Fraser is correct.
Front-most is the thermotime switch. Then there's the sending unit for the temp gauge. Then the temp sensor for the fuel injection. Last/rear-most will be a switch for the canister purge system or EGR system...depending on market. Some cars have nothing at all in the fourth/rear position.
Cheers
