You can’t keep them all for ever.
Today I handed my pride and joy over to a new custodian, who is going to finish what I started 10 years ago. I have done the full mechanical restoration, he is going to do the upholstery and paint, panel resto.
I’m sure Revan will be here to pick your collective brains in the near future.
She is looking very low in the rear because the boot and back seat are full of spare parts. Probably a few hundred kilos worth.
Well, Clarke, I guess in a way I'm not surprised.
It has been a Lot of fun watching your adventures.
I wish you the best with whatever you wrench on next... because there Will be a Next.
Thanks Elinor, it will probably be a vintage or classic tractor.
Working on the bikes with a bike lifter and stool work best for me these days.
Fireball has been lacking a lot of attention since my bike accident.
I’m hearing you Grant, even doing spin on S3 oil filters on the S1 is a job and a half these days.
Anything I need to get on the floor for is a mission.
Thanks Elinor, it will probably be a vintage or classic tractor.
Try getting a Massey Ferguson 35 with the four cylinder Standard 23c engine, I can pass along lots of hard won experience! Fantastic piece of machinery!
Good luck, and I just loved that silver finish on the departed! Scruffy, but in top mechanical order, like its owner (scruffy only though, in his case!)

In the boating industry there is a saying: "Owning a boat has the two happiest days - the day you buy it and the day you sell it". But... as a Yacht Broker and a boat owner myself, I can tell you that I've seen a lot of grown men and women cry on the second happiest day!
Pleased that you found a good buyer Clarke - someone not quite as old as the majority of us on this forum. These cars are not as well appreciated as they should be, and yours has a great history.
Wow Clarke a chapter closed in the book for sure. Here's to many more chapters in that book! I remember my Dad saying, "I wish GOD hadn't wasted youth on the young". And He wished he'd had all this knowledge, back when he was young enough, and able to do something with it. LOL! Life took him to soon he passed in 1990, I was 32, and he was 53. Way to soon. I'm 64, and it sucks trying to do the things that were simple just a few years ago. I Thank the good Lord, I was wise enough to install the 2 post lift in my shop. Best $1845.00 I ever spent. Knowing someday I wouldn't be able to get up, and down worth a ****!
Hi John, (The Mekon) I have some S1 bits and pieces, cam tools, books, reconditioned steering column etc if you are interested before I advertise them.
Tools are yours free if you want them. Other parts we can work out a good price.
Black round things are covers for the panel holes where the fuel tank drain bolts are.
Just out of curiosity, Clarke, Why didn't all that stuff go with the car?
When I sold Addie (2009 Hyundai, the Adequate vehicle) I included a box of books, touch-up paint, everything connected with her as I was Finished with the car.

Elinor, the buyer was happy to take what I packed in for him. Seriously, there literally was not more room in the car for more. And he wasn’t coming back for the left overs.
Every nook in the boot was full as was the back seat.
He wanted to take passenger on the trip home so front seat was “out of bounds”
