Once again, I've come up with a "spare part". The two metal pieces in the picture, took them out (off) months ago in the interior of the car and left them tucked away on the edge of the floor pan so's I'd know to put them back. But now I've forgotten where they go. About 8" long with a "z" cross section and two screw holes on one side. I just figured out the fiber optics, they go to the light switch and ignition.

Those retain the lower edge of the front kick panels.

AHA! So that's how it's s'posed to be!
That explains why Nix's kick panels are glued in place. These clips are missing after the RestoMod several decades ago.
