Default Will Euro Chrome Bumper fit on U.S Spec car?

Does any one know if the Euro spec chrome bumpers will be direct replacement of the U.S. spec chrome/rubber bumper for the Series 2?

The XJ Series 1 bumper was fitted lower than the Series 2. The bumpers were raised to meet US regulations. So the profile may be different, and also the mountings.

I have access to a series 1 car with all the euro bumpers and mountings on it. Will these been a direct fit to my series 2? I think the rears are straight forward, just fill the rubber US bumper and mountings and put the euro bumper and mountings on. The fronts will need the series 1 hood with the longer grill but I'm thinking the mountings should fit my car...anyone know or have done this?

Tread carefully, because I am fairly sure the mountings on the bodyshell are completely different between Series 1 and Series 2, but Series 2 and Series 3 are the same or very similar.

After spending last season rounding up hinges, lower grille etc, I have assembled the front & rear bumpers for my 77 XJ6C S2. Looking forward to installing them. That will be the real challenge. Love the quality of the S/S units out of Vietnam. Not sure people really know, but they are mfr’d by a company that makes them for virtually every classic mark. Most of us I imagine went through eBay, but contact them directly at bumperautomobile.com and pose your questions about fitment. The biggest. Most expensive challenge is getting the LH Bonnet Hinge, which I consider the heart of the installationThe biggest, most expensive challenge is getting the LH Bonnet Hinge, which I consider the heart of the installation. Also Jaglovers forum has pretty good feedback and photos, especially the rear bumper install. It's a good second resource.
