Windshield washer reservoir pump
Good evening fellas. Does anyone have an extra operational one they would sell or know where I can get one. Everything I see on eBay is aftermarket. I don’t know if any that will fit the bottle on my 86xj6.
You need to contact David Bodger at everydayXJ.com.
He's a breaker on the East coast, Carolinas I think, and he posts here sometimes. Many of us have dealt with him (including me); he's a nice guy, easy to deal with and only sells the good stuff. He'll doubtless have just what you need.

Yes yes...thanks brutha
I dealt w him years ago and he was aces. Good to hear he is still around. I’ve been out of the mix for the last few years and just recently put my cat back on the road so I’m still clearing out the cob webs from my brain.

That's SISTA, thank you very much.
But as you're an infrequent visitor, I'll let it slide for now.

Sorry to say it but the aftermarket will probably do the same thing and maybe last longer than the original Bosch or Lucas part.
the principle is the same on all windshield washers, no matter who makes them.
if you cannot find one, try one from a Ford, they are almost identical in shape, with one inlet and one outlet, and they mount in the same place, the same way, and maybe can use the same connector.

I ordered a bottle, an original pump from Bogar, also grabbed an aftermarket pump just in case. Working just fine. I forgot how much fun working on this thing is - granted it was a simple task. Took under 10 minutes to put the new bottle in w the Pump.
After I sent this post on Friday..I went back outside and notice all the washer fluid was all over my driveway. so my advice to anyone in the future..make sure you push the pump all the way into the grommets or else you will waste 2.50 on washer fluid. I had to go back and take the bottle back out..jam that sucker in all the way. Then I wa good to go.
excellent doghead08, I bet it works the same or better. time will tell.
as to windshield washer fluid, my opinion is: Save your money, just fill with water from the garden hose.
I have been using nothing but garden hose water in my cars since 1970, including the XJ-6, and never had a problem. Windshield washer fluid causes stains on the paint from the blue colorant and I suspect it also clogs the pumps.
if you live in a climate where water will freeze in winter temps, just add a couple of spoons of alcohol and it won't freeze. In fact, that is what Jaguar recommended in the 1960's Owner's Handbooks. (NOTE: NOT Charlie Daniels alcohol or any of those famous ones from Scotland, me talking about rubbing alcohol).

Jose :
Good point. But OK only for those of us that live in warm or moderate climes. Not good for those who live in ice and snow company.
I messed with the pump and tank in my Jaguar. It wasn't working. the fix was not a fix. Pump worked fine on the bench. In the car, no.
Now, the one in my Jeep works really well Two nozzles that spray generously. I added water and a bit of car wash soap. works great.
I suspect any mild detergent would do just as well. Dish soap, not dish washer soap. Perhaps even a dash of laundry detergent.

@Jose. Rubbing alcohol? I had an issue driving home on the jersey parkway in a snow storm in my explorer and washing fluid froze solid. Boy did that suck something fierce. Almost as bad as driving home in a rainstorm from citi Field in queens after some ****** stole both my side view mirrors.
Cheers
