Default Wiper motor questions

My window wiper motor does not work anymore. Ik have applied a currect directly, but no results. I am looking for another one.

1. Can anybody tell me how to seperate the motor from the wiper cable?
2. Can I use a series 1,2,3? the look almost identical. Fabricating mounting brackets is not a problem.
3. Anybody can explain the wiring? Give a pinout of the connections on the wiper motor? It was all not original anymore on my car, so cable colors are wrong etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Default Electrical schematics sent privately

Even when working the wiper system is dismal.. too slow and slow on the switch choices...

Mine quit due to a bad brush in the motor.. it was worn funny and I ground it down and it works now... I added a Hella intermittent wiper control unit and it helped a little..

I tried to send you the two pages of the electrical schematics privately.. they show the proper wires and colors. You will have to email me so I have your address.

Series 3 is not backward compatible with series 2. The stroke of the motor is longer and the gearing at the wiper base is different. Jag did this to fix the lazy wiper motion on series 2's. Series 3 are much better.

You should be able to find and old timer who does motor repair. That may be worth a shot.

That's all I know.

you might try the motors from a 1966-1967 420, or from the 1963-1968 S type or 420-G which are faster than the XJ motors. They are all essentially the same cable system. No need to disconnect the cable to remove motor, first remove both wiper Arms, then remove all motor fasteners, then pull the motor complete with cable. Clean and Grease cable to reinstall.
