Default Wooden 'ski slope' for XJ

Hi All

I've seen a few cars with the 'ski slope'/ centre console that was made with matching woodgrain. Does anyone have more information on this? I've searched everywhere, but can't find any places that may sell these. I believe that these came with the VDP XJ's.

Also, can anyone give more info on the process to restore the wood?

Thanks fellas! Love the forum

Will

Are you taking about the Ser III cars? If so, the wood ski slope came along in August '85 or so....1986 model year in USA terms. This addition was used on both the standard cars and the upper line models such as the VDPs.

There were a number of other interior trim updates at the same time: chrome speaker trim, chrome seat release bars, chrome door latch face plates, highly polished sill plates, and wood trim inserts for the door panels on the standard cars. This last item was similar to the wood door inserts previously seen only on the VDP/upper line variants.

Cheers
