XJ6 no start
I have a 1986 XJ6 that will not start. I’ve done a bit of work on it and I’m stumped. I also cannot find the insulator bushings and seals for the injectors anywhere.
so far I have:
replaced fuel pump
replaced fuel filter
cleaned tanks
replaced MAF
replaced one injector
cleaned 5 injectors
replaced battery
checked fuses and wiring
I had it running before the injector went out and can’t get it going now. Help!
3 of the injectors are missing the little cone bushing and I cannot find a replacement. Apparently they’re no longer manufactured.

Have you thought of replacing the GM module in the ignition amplifier box mounted at the front of the block, right side? These modules are prone to failure especially with heat (more so on the V12 than on the 6). The correct module is the Delco D1906, easily replaced, easily available - do NOT use an aftermarket equivalent.

I can not tell where on our globe you are. If not in the USA, it may not help;
If so, A set of good used intact injectors from David Boger at everydayxj . good guy. Posts here. reasonable pricing fast delivery
If not, a local wrecker/breaker. probably cheap for the whole shebang.
Or David Faircloth. Fuel injector service. Somewhere in Florida.

To clarify, you've checked that you have spark at the sparkplugs when you crank the engine? If not, that should be your first step.
When you crank the engine do the fuel injectors click? A mechanic's stethoscope is useful here but a rubber hose (or screwdriver) held to you ear will work.
Put the gearshift in "D" or "R" and turn the key to the 'start' position. Do you hear the fuel pump humming at the rear of the car?
Post back !

It most certainly has pressure. Been sprayed in the face a time or two working on it. Beyond that, I don’t have the stuff to properly test it.
