Default XJ6 Series II with manual transmission...

When looking at XJ6 listings over the weekend, I stumbled across this 1978 Series II — and it has a stick! I knew they were offered in Europe, but I've never seen one here in the States.

So it's apparently a four-speed with overdrive. Does that mean it's a push-button deal, like MGs of the period? And does anyone know what the performance was like compared to the three-speed auto? I imagine it would have to feel a little peppier than the automatic versions, given that it has more cogs, and that old autos could sap a lot of poke.

From the bumpers and the outer headlamps, it appears to be 'gray market' car originally sold in another market.

For sure. It would be interesting to run the VIN and see what came up, if anything.

Interested buyers may want to proceed with caution with regard to that sales group. There is a reputation you can research.
