Default xj6 supercharger

Does anyone know of a supercharger that would work on a 85 xj6?

I think it is 220 bhp for the stock 4.2 engine, but that is the British-standard, I do not know what that number translates to American-standard for horsepower.

USA cars with the 8.0 compression had 170 SAE net horsepower. ROW cars with the 9.0 compression had 205 SAE net horsepower

Different pistons and/or shave the cylinder head. The cylinder head has a ton of 'meat'. You can take off almost a full 100 thou.

Early US ones ( pre 1973) had the same engine as the British except they used Strombergs instead of SU’s.

For far less than what a supercharger costs you can install a V12. Get more bottom end grunt and top end power. Realize the supercharger will need added fuel. So fuel economy wise it’s about even. plus you get rid of that lousy BW. Transmission.

remarkably the V12 just slides in and is actually 30 pounds lighter.
