Is this a fix something that doesn't need fixing. Or is it a matter of using what you have? I've read of fitting XJ40 seats. Needs some cross brace alteration.
I like my XJwuzza six seats. I drive it with the backs tilted back allowing an arms out steering posture.
OTH, I set the seat backs in my Jeep in a more upright position.
Each seems suitable to each.
Way back when, I got a really good deal on a 79 IHC Scout II. Only two years old. Gas crunch in full bloom. It's factory bench was the most uncomfortable thing that my backside ever met. Lousy subvinyl as well!!! Well, I got lucky and layed my hands on a pair of Chrysler Cordoba buckets in Ricardo's Corinthian hide. Color compatible. I cobbled up a mpount for each and a console clad in real cowhide tot match. Now, my backside was happy. A business colleague had anew diesel Blazer. He had a bad back and said my Scout's seats were far more comfortable. His Blazer fell behind my Scout on climbing a steep hill to a loss site.

I have not. I figured there is someone out there that has removed the seats from both and at least knows how close the bolt pattern is for the rails. The series I/II/III XJ and the XJS always had the same feel in the foot wells and console and I am just thinking it might be possible that the floor pans are close enough that it might not be a major engineering exercise to do it.
