Default XJS wheels to XJ6 sedan ... quick question

Will these wheels fit a 1987 Series III XJ6? We're replacing the wheels on my '89 XJS with 17x8 wheels as part of a custom build, but I much prefer the lattice-work style wheels to what's currently on the XJ6. Just want to make sure before I go to the trouble of trying to swap them.

It's the same suspension on both cars albeit the spring rates and damper settings may be different, so those wheels should bolt straight on.

Yes, straight fit, but you will need to buy a lot of wheel cleaning bits and pieces or employ a patient child to keep them clean!!!

Or dust shields for the front wheels, they work a treat.

YUP

My 83 wears a set of lattice wheels . Perfect fit. A tad wider than the Kents they replaced. Mine are shod with B.F. Goodrich 215 79 15. T rated. a touring classification, not "sport".

Although the tires on the Kents had a lot of tread, they were out dated. so, I merely had the tire place fit the new shoes to the Lattice wheels and fit . Erred,. but I spotted them and they corrected it. Mine came sans center caps. but I chased down a set..

Too fat for the spare well. So, i kept the best Kent for a spare. Even so, it makes the cover stand just a bit proud.

No issue with brake dust, Mine still look great.

The Kents did look OK. but the lattice are better plus the added width...

good move.

A little tip on the centre caps.
If the paint is damaged or you want to match your body colour, just push the centre cap emblem from the surround from the 3 (?) little holes at the back, being careful not to damage the silver or gold head.
Sand off the paint at the back on a piece of fine sandpaper on a flat surface until the paint is all gone and the paint in the jaguar emblem remains.. If the metallic paint in the head is damaged then you could fix this with some matching paint.
The apply the colour of your choice on the back.
Stick back into the surround using silicone etc
Don't put too much paint or thin it down with solvent as it runs the risk of crazing the plastic. I ruined a few first time. by trying to lacquer the fronts
