Default Is $1000 good deal for 6.0l motor?

Does 6.0 have same bell housing bolt pattern as the 5.3? Ie there anything majorly different between the two, in regard to swapping 5.3 for 6.0?

yes, a good running 6L jag V12 , is easily worth $1000.bucks.

best i seen was $1300.

not quite sure if bell pattern is exactally same, but most important would be the alignment dowels are the same as GM,distance from Crank center line to dowel, i think they are so any mods to bolts should be easy to do.

NO, my 6.0 bolt pattern is different from my 5.3 (1994 6.0 and 1989 5.3)

I had the 6.0 block re-drilled so the BP is the same a the 5.3. Cost a hundred bucks from the guy I bought the engine from.

BTW I payed 4K for my 6.0L

There are many advantages to the 6L the heads flow better the longer stroke is good for more torque and with a 93mm bore 6.5L is easy.

If you do buy it make sure you get everything. The differences in ancillaries are enough that they are not easily interchangeable - for example you can not bolt the 5.3 injector rail to the 6L and the harmonic balancer is different.

Now now...my 5.3 runs great! It's the blown transmission that's the problem!

And I do have perfect transmission, that was freshly rebuilt before I got the car. I even welded in nice drain plug in the pan... CHEAP, everything must go!

I know where I could get another 400, but if I'm going to pull it out, than I might as well convert to a 5 speed. I already have the tranny, now I need the rest. I'm just a little busy building a car for my wife!

My 5.3 also runs perfectly. It just leaks like crazy! Still sorting it out. Perfection is a state of mind.

when i moved from Florida to Texas, i junked/scrapped 3 T400 trans, 2 T 350 trans, best of all, 3 complete Jag V12 engines , one carby type, 2 FI types, plus lots of jad bits ,ECUs, injector drivers,ETC.

couple Chevy V8s, along with GM 700R4 trans.

i got $25. each engine, $10 each trans, around $25-30. each chevy.

remember junk is just junk/scrap, OH yes, unless some one needs it, most stuff i had for over 10yrs.
back when you said (Jaguar V12) NOBODY would touch such junk, now it seems they are making a come back,Go figure that one out.

One collector once told me that the highlight of my XJS' career will be when my 15.5 y/o son puts it in the ditch. I tend to believe it
