$40 Quad exhaust and whats this wire?
So I was tiring of the wimpy exhaust pipes that came on some facelift models. The original chrome tips are quite nice and I like em but I felt they looked a bit wimpy on my car. So I found a dual tip replacement that simply bolts on like the original and Voila! I now have quad exhaust. The tips have some ricer type inserts which will make just about anyone pass. I reluctantly bought two at $20 a pop, and I simply removed the inserts then sprayed painted the inside black just to help it look a bit more broken in with carbon. I think they look sharp and not out of place. Let me know what you think?
Btw I need to repair my power antenna and when I opened the compartment I noticed this wire was disconnected. What is it for?

Mine has had them for 15+ years. Best add on I ever did.
Not too sure on the facelift model, BUT, that looks familiar as the "bulb out" module, the earlier had one on each side in the boot (memory here) and that wire plugs onto that vacant terminal.
Why its off, anyones guess, but replug it and see what gremlins appear on the dash.

I think the tips look nice. The only suggestion I would is to see if they can be mounted a bit further inward so they don't jut out so far. I think it would look even nicer that way, personally.
Agreed with Grant on the wiring question. Looks like a "BFU"--Bulb Failure Unit. I had reckoned Jaguar had gone to something more sophisticated on the late cars but I guess not.
Cheers

Hey guys. Been working so haven't had a chance to work on the xjs. Thanks for the compliments. I picked the tips at pep boys. The tips have some ugly inserts so it'll make u cringe at first. I think thruster makes em. The tips r protruding just enough to not burn or scrape me when I walk behind the car. I would have already hurt myself if they were out too far.
