Default 10 tooth window motor?

I need a driver's side motor for my 88. It is the slimmer 10 tooth version.

All I can find is the old ones with the large round motor and the new ones with thethicker 8 tooth gear.

Every parts website i visit only lists the 8 tooth bosch for my 88.

Anyone have any source on the 10 tooth version.

I have seen it once but its 200 dollars instead of 80 (wtf)

Buy a replacement motor and just swap your 10 tooth drive mechanism over

Unless, of course, it's the drive mechanism, rather than the motor itself, that is giving you trouble :-)

The motor itself is okay, the white plastic gear inside mine comes off of the worm gear and gets stuck.

it looks like they were replaced in the linked thread but they look pressed on, how are they removed?

I can pull the one out of my parts car if you need one, but I don't know what's in it. Do they look different on the outside? Any pics for me to compare?

Then Oddrods might be the better choice, as mine is older and may not match.

That depends....
What price range have you found so far? And of course this assumes that my part is actually the same as yours and in good shape.

The people who still have their sanity seem to ask 40-45 for them. I was just kind of avoiding them because if mine is 20 years old and broken then another 25 year old one will break as well, but I dont seem to have much choice

Do you need just the gear or the whole assembly? Do you need both doors or just 1? Figure 30.00 + shipping
When you give me the go ahead I'll pull the door apart and give you a better idea as to condition.

Well as i posted previously I don't see how the gears can come out, it is pressed/welded together.

You could remove the actual electric motor if you wanted to sell that later separately as mine seems fine, but it's up to you.

Cool. I'll pull the door apart 1st part of next week and give you an update ASAP. Did you want just the drivers side?

At the risk of sounding like a pr*ck, may I suggest that the details of a private transaction be communicated by PM....rather than adding more and more posts to the thread?

Not trying to be difficult but arrangements and particulars are none of our business and, speaking for myself, not the least bit interesting

No offense intended.

Cheers
DD
