1987 XJ-SC Door lock pin
Hey guys,
I am desperately looking for a rather trivial part.
My XJ-SC is importet from the US and someone in its history installed an aftermarket security system. Among other things they replaced the door lock pins against some kind of small red bulbs.
That security system was inoperative when I bought the car so I already had the cabling rewired. But now I also want to reinstall some original door lock pins. Which I cant find at all in any diagramm in any catalogue.
Does anyone know which part number it is or does anyone have two of them for sale?
Thanks in advance from Hamburg
Hendrik

Hi Greg,
as the part was deinstalled from my car it´s hard to make a photo. But here is one example of what I need from ebay:

I've never seen that type of door lock pins/knobs on an XJS. Door locks operate from the "paddle" directly in front of the door release handle. The illustrations below might help.

I think you're right. I've just looked at pictures of some XJ-SCs in sales ads and noticed that other cars don't have a pin either. This means that on my car this opening has been retrofitted (so that the alarm system gives a small flashing signal when activated). Then I simply put a small chrome screw cover on it and the issue is resolved.
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!
