I purchased an injector rebuild kit from Ebay and it all looks good except it came with clamps instead of the original ferrules. Are the clamps ok to use or should I find replacement ferrules? If so, where can I buy just the ferrules? Thanks!

Sorry, never mind. Found them. www.jaguarfuelinjectorservice.com $60 for a set of 24.

I wouldn't use clamps, personally. The risk is that clamping the hoses will cut them, as the barbs on the nipples are very sharp. For ferrules, try Dave at :

Jaguar Fuel Injector Service

And/or search the archives ("fuel hose ferrule") for other sources. They're not really Jaguar-specific

Clamps are fine, you need the heavy duty type that can hold under the pressure. They've been used since the dawn of time.

Also fine, and in use since the dawn of time, are pressed-on hoses over barbed fittings . There's nothing remotely exotic or unsafe about them.

Some guys do use clamps, yes. There's no particular reason to use them, though, except perhaps a feel good thing....which I understand. If you do use clamps it really doesn't matter if they're heavy duty or light duty or anything else, as the nipple design doesn't require them in the first place ! Once you press that hose on, it ain't comin' off for love nor money!

Not really Doug, barbed fittings can leak under pressure. That's why hose clamps exists. Yes they should be fine under normal circumstaces but who plans for the norm when you deal with gasoline? We could probably go back and forth on this but it's pointless. You'll tell me that there's no problems and I'll point out plenty of V12 jags that have burned to the ground.
