I had my door cards off the other day to install the small section of carpet at the bottom front corners, install some speakers, lock mechanics, lubing and stuff. Door cards were in rough shape due to water egress and with a good weldwood glue and light cabinet particle board, I made some fixes to weak spots. Things went well. FINALLY have a stereo, which is good. Led Zeppelin should be played in the XJS, loudly
Q: I didn't and dont want to remove the black bolted insert section of the door shell, the plate, holding the window motor, coil spring and other things back there,,, is there a good approach that folks have learned here at replacing the thick mil plastic sheeting the runs inside of the door shell separating the wet from needed dry areas? I'm already having a hard time getting windows sealed up properly. I'm imagining disturbing the entire assembly leading to real grief.
Any suggestions? Anyone don't this before? Got some new fuzzzz for the space in the shifter slot, too... Can't tell you how long I've been waiting to install it... Really nice to see things coming together.
