I have removed the in tank fuel pump and found some renovations to the factory parts. The pump sits inside a plastic canister which has a massive opening carved out of the bottom, and the seal from the pump into the top of the canister is badly cut and probably no good. I am planning to replace the pump but do not know what pump may be an exact fit and whether I need to replace the plastic canister.

Anyone have experience with these parts or a complete replacement solution? I have read the section in the Kirby Palm book but it’s not too clear what my options are. The 1992 seems is a revised design from previous years.
