1992 XJS Fuel Pump Module / Gas Tank Questions
My mechanic took apart the fuel tank and found that the pump is not being able to put out enough pressure out due to a cracked "fuel pump module". This plastic doohickey is no longer available from jaguar heritage or so far anywhere I have looked. Has anybody modified the gas tank so it can accept a regular fuel pump that does not require this plastic canister? Any other suggestion? I thought of a fuel cell in the trunk, but not quite there yet to make a major alteration like that. Would like to keep the same tank and just change the setup for the pump.
Any suggestions are appreciated. The car is in wonderful shape and would hate to modify it too much or not being able to get it running over a plastic part.... But the ol' lady is on my backside about either get it fixed or sell. Some of you may have heard similar threats before ha ha ha
