Default 1992 XJS v12- OEM radio

Hope this is correct place to post this (first post!).

Anyone know where I might get radio for this Jag? Are there reproductions or reasonable facsimilies?

Any info would be appreciated!

Default 92 XJS Radio

Decided to go with a new unit instead, that has CD changer. Any recommendations for a quality unit that will fit the space assuming one is even exists?

I believe its a standard DIN hole. You just need the cables.

If you buy a new radio it will have all the cables and should be a straight forward disconnect/reconnect job of 2 multi plug sockets and the antenna. Depending on what spec of unit that you buy there may also be amplifier pre outs, USB ports, aux in (MP3 etc) or whatever floats your boat.
There is not much point in going high end unless you change the speakers at the same time.
I tend to go for something that looks good, doesn't have a multitude of tiny, miniscule and illegible buttons (I prefer a rotary volume control) and avoids horrible red night lights.
My car has a crap aftermarket unit in that I am changing next week so if I remember I'll post some photos for you.
It's only a 20 minute job but the hardest part is jamming all the cables and connectors back in the slot again without disturbing anything else.

Default 92 XJS Radio

Alpine unit looks nice, good price too. The wife, however, wants a CD player!

Is it the same size as the OEM radio? The Kenwood that's in mine has a bezel that hides some of the labeling on dash, it's gotta go!

my 94 v12 has an OEM Alpine cassette/5cd changer unit that I am replacing, it also has the bezel and I assume I will need to reuse that.

Any single DIN head unit will work. I'm not familiar with that particular model, but Nakamichi has a good reputation. Some of their units, including that one, have an understated look more fitting to an older Jaguar if the look is important to you. The nakamichi CD400 is very good, but pricey.

I put an alpine cda-117 in my '92 that I bought used, and it has cd/ipod control/bluetooth.

Good luck.
