1993 4.0 Cruise Control Diagram
Is the Cruise control System documented anywhere? I have the Service Manual and it has an electrical diagram but no explanation as to how it is supposed to work. The vacuum lines to my pump have been disconnected (don't ask) and one is missing so I need a diagram to hook them back up. It would also be nice to have some doc. concerning how the system operates. .I never use it so I'm thinking about just removing the pump, actuator, dump valve and vacuum lines. I assume something will have to be capped off to prevent vacuum leaks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure what you mean by 'how system operates'? There are electronics that control the vacuum system.
Do you want info on the electronics and/or vacuum system?Do you want to know how to engage cruise control?
The electronic system can be worked out from the electrical diagrams - connections between control module, gear shift, brake pedal, Speed control switch, Reset switch and vacuum system.
Vacuum system as per your diagram - pump, 1, causes bellows, 3, to move and pull the throttle open a fixed amount (simply put).

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, now that I've looked at it, it is pretty simple. I'm still surprised that there isn't a diagram like the one from the X300 or any writeup on the system anywhere in the XJS doc.
