Hello all I have a 1994 jaguar xjs 4.0 convertible.
lately it’s been doing this thing where the car randomly won’t crank. every time it’s happened I’ve had to leave it and use another vehicle to get somewhere and inevitably when I return to it it starts cranking and runs perfectly. I was hoping someone might have some kind of idea as to where to start in regards to troubleshooting. I’ve also tried starting in neutral as well as charging the battery and checking the starter relay. I’m pretty inexperienced so any advice is appreciated

 

When was the last time you replaced the camshaft position sensor.

Easy repair. You can do this yourself.

 

I've never replaced that. I will put it on the to do list.
