1994 Starting problem
Guys, I just purchased a 94 XJS today. I noticed that after you run the car, if you turn it off and then try to turn it on again, it won't turn over. I have to turn the key and then start it again and it starts on the 2nd try. What might that be? Thanks
I remember a tip about the 90/91 models saying that if you switch the ignition on/off
too quickly and there was a weak battery or bad battery connection,
the ecu would generate a false code "69" and this would cause a delayed
PARK/Neutral status.
The ecu will not allow a start if there is no Park/Neutral Status=True.
Which means the car will not start until a delay has timed out. 30 -60 secs?
Maybe this is the same for the 94 model?
Anyway it may mean that you have a weak battery or bad battery connections.
Battery =4 years or older = time to get another battery.
