1994 XJS coupe Passenger seat stuck in recline

1994 XJS coupe Passenger seat stuck in recline
My friend decided to recline the passenger seat on the XJS and now it wont go back up. Any ideas on where I should start? The seat will move forward and back, the recline and decline is sending a signal, as I hear something clicking but the seat wont move

Something must be stuck in the mechanism. Try and take the seat out and disassemble the seat
