Default 1995 Jaguar XJS speakers

Hello XJS world,

I have a '95 XJS coupe, and I'm trying to upgrade the terrible factory speakers, but I have no idea what kind, size, specs needed. Please help me.

Thanks,

Steve

Hopefully someone can help. I know they are 5.25 inches, but the depth and ohms, etc. are still a mystery. Thanks

Have you taken them out yet, surely the ohms is listed on the back. The depth would be easy to check at that point. Personally, I'm not sure what your talking about, talking about "terrible factory speakers". Mine sound great. Maybe yours are not factory.

They are factory...and they suck as I mentioned in the earlier post. I did remove them today though, and they are 6inches in case there are any other XJS owners that need to know.

Thanks

Must have changed suppliers between 1988 and 1995. My stereo system sounds great, but then I don't crank up the base and volume to the max. Are your speakers buzzy, fuzzy, or what? Sucks covers a lot of ground when describing a problem.

Correction: 5.25 inches is the size, and they are buzzy and fuzzy..lol. Maybe I misquoted when, I said terrible. I was speaking on mine, and not all Jaguar factory speakers in general.

Thanks,

Steve

I put in a set of MB quarts with tweeters and crossovers, they sound fantastic. I used a holesaw and put the tweeters in the dash undercovers. Looks factory. Of course I put in a pioneer radio also so that I could hook up my Ipod.

even if the system sounded great originally, the speaker cones disintegrate with time and have to be replaced. I just replaced the entire system speakers and all from crutchfield.com talk to doc, he'll tell you what fit and whats compatible along with the correct connectors to make it plug n play
