Default 1996 Jaguar XJS No Tail & Dash Lights

Hi, I just realized that I have no taillight and dashboard light. I just bought a new battery, could it be the problem?

I bought H6-EFB

Enhanced Flood Battery, 750CCA

Thanks so much.
Terry

There is a relay on the LHS of the engine compartment that controls the dash and rear lights. Remove the cap an clean the contacts and all will be well.

I am away from my car at the moment but as I recall there is a bank of relays on the LHS of the engine compartment. The one you want is second or third from the front. If you have the manuals that came with the car the location is described there.

You should buy yourself a service manual.

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource has a lot of useful info too

Thank you so much for the replies.

What a great site, happy to be a member!

it was a faulty relay, it was a bit dirty so I followed stuizzy advice, removed it cleaned it and it's ago.
My car and s always spotless but Its time to detail the car and the engine compartment thoroughly again
Taking my car to RMR jaguar in North Hollywood for a complete tune-up. The car has 12.500 miles
