1996 XJS in the USA

Car salesman says the car without the "Jaguar" and "XJS" on the trunk came from the factory like that. Does anyone know if this was done from the factory. Thanks Ed

I'm not aware of any '96 cars that came without badges. Most likely someone removed the badges or the car has been repainted and the badges never re-installed.

It would have been possible to order the car de-badged from the factory (as became popular with BMW 3-series in the 80s). However, I've not seen one before.

If you got a Heritage certificate from Jaguar Heritage, it would specify if the car came from the factory like this. I just think it's unlikely.
