Thirty-two years ago October 6th TWR and Jaguar took on Bathurst.

Still have the tape sitting in my old VCR. Play the highlights occasionally particularly Tom's drive in the shootout.
Race is on tomorrow and l will be watching but it's not quite the same.

BTW have you seen the OTR intakes when they have the bonnet up...........

Not in Australia other than a couple of privateers.
There was an extensive European campaign though.

It's been run and won for another year.
Still a distant connection to '85 with walkinshaw team into second place.

It won the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) in 1983 or 4, having competed very strongly for one or two previous years. It beat the best opposition that BMW and other makers could provide. The ETCC was a series of races throughout the season at different tracks throughout Europe, mainly of several hours duration, also including a 24 hour race at Spa in Belgium.
Allan Scott's book is all about how they did it and is a brilliant read.
The racing cars used the pre-HE cylinder head though, in spite of the badging on the car!
