I'm going to look at an 89 with a carb 350 mated to the stock trans. Anyone driving this set up that can tell me how well it works out? What kind of highway mileage are you getting?

The 400 has close ratios, so your acceleration off the line will not be as good as with a TH350, but once going, it will be a pleasure to drive. A little work on the 350 can make a difference. Performer manifold and cam, headers, good Q jet set up, good dist set up, etc. X pipe, perf mufflers, etc.
